SCSI Interface Card Specifications

The CMS SCSI II Card:

(Apple II+ & up, 64K Required)

Data Transfer Rate: Approx. 64-128K / Sec.

Of all the SCSI Cards available for the Apple II Series, The CMS Card is the one different one, it does not support the same standard Apple Partition Map like ALL other cards do. To use a hard disk with this card, it requires that the user set a series of jumpers to their needs. The main limitation on this card is it will only work with drives up to 64 Meg. (2 32 Meg Partitions).

There are 3 ROM Revisions available for the CMS Card, the first, and most common has a date of 11/09/87. The next one is 03/1/89 and the latest being 4/1/90.

The 4/1/90 ROM does NOT have the same limitations as the older two, it can utilize the card WITHOUT the jumpers.

Still, all things considered, this card is not recommended for use in the Apple IIgs at all. A number of other things have brought this to be.
